With the world’s population predicted to increase to 9.7 billion by 2050, and the need to protect our climate and its biodiversity, it is essential that we consider how we will feed our ever-growing population.
If our current crop yield rate doesn’t improve, it is predicated that there will be an 8% shortfall in crop production in 2050.
To meet food demand in 2050, it is predicted that an area the size of the UK, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, together, will need to be developed to meet the demand.

With just a small footprint on the land, growing crops in a controlled environment enables us to protect our land and the species within, thus helping to reduce the effects of climate change.
